Welcome to Thrivent Builds - Chico |
Chico is located in Upstate CA on the eastern boundary of the Sacramento Valley as it approaches the Cascade Mountains. Home of the California State University Chico (CSUC) Wildcats, this very pleasant economic center of the Northstate, is home for 59,954 residents. The Butte/Glenn Chapter of Thrivent is Proud to be a 2008 Thrivent Builds Site: The nine congregations which comprise the Chapter run the full range from small rural parishes to larger urban congregations. In the few months since news was received that the Chico site had been approved as a Thrivent Builds location, virtually all the Chapter congregations have joined together in providing financial support, arranging for volunteer teams to contribute sweat equity to construction of the home, and making quilts for the family selected to purchase the home. Bake sales and other fund raisers are also under development to provide the needed financial support that will be necessary for successful completion of the build. A wonderful sense of community is beginning to build among all nine congregations as they join together on this helping project. | |
