Human resources development is deemed to be central to managing and delivering health care to the communities. Following the departure of Dr. Joerg Poennighaus who was the Medical Officer Incharge of Lugala Lutheran Hospital, it was a good idea for the diocesan authority to think on the replacement of him so as to retain the status of the hospital and make it more active. It was agreed earlier that the replacement would come from the Evangelical Church of the Province of Saxony (KPS) but due to some reasons no expatriate medical doctor was identified by the KPS. Latter, the diocese met with the leadership of SolidarMed Support Unit in Ifakara to discuss the same hence; the dream came true when SolidarMed Switzerland received an application from Dr. Claus-Peter Hellmold.
We thank Dr. Claus-Peter Hellmold for his readiness and pledged commitment to work with our diocese serving as the medical doctor at Lugala Lutheran Hospital. It is highly appreciated by all of us having such experience and we are proud of his keenness and sense of worth. For his personal particulars, professionalism and work experiences, please, the attached Curriculum Vitae is an invitation for you to find the relevant information.
Having valued his dignity, integrity and professionalism the Diocesan Executive Council enthusiastically resolved with full vote to appoint him as the Medical Officer Incharge of Lugala Lutheran Hospital to serve for a two years term with effect from 1st of May 2009. Further, this contract can be extended as will consensually be determined by the diocese and SolidarMed Switzerland based on performance, otherwise the diocese is of great need of his service.
