The Lutheran Malaria Initiative, is an unprecedented collaborative effort among the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and Lutheran World Relief to mobilize the nearly 8 million Lutherans in the United States to join the battle against malaria -- a preventable and treatable disease that kills more than one million people a year. Our Youth (from SMLC) are raising funds the ELCA will match, to contribute to this humanitarian project.

The "opening music" you're hearing plays automatically each time the home page is engaged. It may take a "minute" to load.
To hear that music again, "refresh" the home page. Enjoy!

If you do not hear anything, look above - to the top of the page. You most likely will see in highlighted text a question asking if you want to download or install active x, etc. This is ok, and necessary to use the embedded music players we use. Click on that area of the screen, a brief download will take place,
and then you will hear the amazing sounds of SMLC!
Please click on the "right" arrow below, to hear "Aleluia Joyfully."
The file will take a few seconds to load.

You are invited to join us for worship each Sunday, at 9:00 AM. We practice open communion at SMLC. All Christians who believe Christ is truly present in the Sacrament, under the forms of bread and wine, are welcome at the Lord's Table. Your participation in the Eucharist is by Christ's gracious invitation, not obligation. Following our worship service please join us in the Fellowship Hall for refreshments.
A few historical notes.
Our congregation first gathered for services in 1989 at St. Bartholomew's Church, meeting only twice a month.

On May 25, 1997, Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church (SMLC) was officially recognized by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America as a congregation of the Rocky Mountain Synod.

On June 29, 2008, a Service of Dedication was held for the church building, the first for SMLC!

Grace Matters: The Final Benediction April 12, 2009, was the Evangelical Lutheran Church's in America final broadcast of new programs for its radio ministry.

Please note past programs are available on the Web site at www.gracematters.org.
