WEEKLY SATURDAY NIGHT (5PM) WORSHIP SERVICE


The service is inspired by the Taize Lutheran Monk Community. It is characterized by:
a. Meditative singing of short songs expressing a basic reality of faith.
b. Silence to calm our spirit and find rest.

The service follows the order of a traditional Eucharist Service and is very much anchored in the Scriptures.

Currently, we use computer technology to help us participate in the service.
Music is generated by the computer and we all sing along. Some of the songs are familiar; those which might not be familiar are easy to learn.
Eventually, our objective is to introduce live music as we try to locate instrumental and singing talents.

We also project icons and other video material. The icons contribute to the beauty of the worship service. In the word of the monks, "they are like windows on the realities of the Kingdom of God.”


March 1 - March 8, 2009

Quilters volunteers: Invited to join on Wednesday during Lent from 3:30 to 5:30 PM to work on quilts for LWR. No experience neessary. Questions: ask Marilynn Short or Ellen Leapaldt.
Next Tailgaters activity is a surprise dinner on March 14th at 5:00 p.m. in Lewis Hall. Sign-up poster in the Hall with deadline of March 1. Tickets: $5.00 /person.
