RUTH GUILDThe next Ruth Guild meeting will be held on
Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at 12:00 at church. Bring a brown bag and dessert will be provided. Elaine Deguzis is hostess.
We will be collecting gifts for the homeless for Christmas. Please bring your gifts in wrapped, marked, what the item is and size, whether it is for male, or female. If it is for a child, please put all the information on a sticker. Items should be brought in by Sunday, December 6th. Please remember those who are less fortunate than your family.
SPECIAL THANKS
A special “thank you” to my newsletter and worship folder “crews” for their dedicated service to the Lord.
They are a very special group of workers who are very faithful in helping with the newsletter and the worship folders.

THANKSGIVING DAY SERVICE
NOVEMBER 26, 2009
10:00 A.M.
On Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., we will have an opportunity to give thanks to the Lord for the bountiful gifts He has given us by coming to the worship service at St. Paul’s.
Come and join us as we praise God for his many blessings.
SUNDAY MORNING
FELLOWSHIP HOUR
We all look forward to that good hot cup of coffee and something delicious to go with it
after church on Sunday mornings. It’s that “something delicious” that needs a little attention every once in a while! We welcome your contribution: coffee, cake, muffins, doughnuts, brownies – all good things on a Sunday morning. Thanks! We need your help to make it “go.”
See you on Sunday!
THRIVENT FINANCIAL FOR LUTHERANS
RHODE ISLAND CHAPTER 31029
On Sunday, November 1, 2009, the members of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be voting for their local RI Chapter leaders.
Those elected manage the “Care Abounds in Communities” program and are responsible for sharing Thrivent’s charitable works. Some projects include: financial aid to care for the homeless, hungry, flood/hurricane ravaged and others needing to meet life’s challenges.
Margaret Boger will be in the Fellowship Hall before and after church to give you the ballots to fill out.
The recent (October 17, 2009) rummage sale that benefited the Ruth Guild was a great success. God blessed the event. The time, efforts, and enthusiasm of the Ruth Guild members who participated in the sale as well as all the donors, volunteers, shoppers, and Thrivent Financial that made it so worthwhile is appreciated.
"Oh give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good"! God bless you all.

CHOIR NEWS
“Could you not watch one hour with Me?” These words, spoken by Jesus on the eve of his Passion, can be applied to our participation in various ministries of our Parish. Here, we consider how they apply to
choir membership. Our numbers have dwindled. Some members have moved away; others have become home-bound or died. Every empty chair has, in God’s Mind, a name on it. Could it be yours?
We know there are many singers who regularly sing from the pews. Obviously, some have trained voices; others sing with grace and gusto. Why not join us in one of the empty chairs? Rehearsals begin at 8:30 a.m. Sunday mornings. “If today you hear His voice, harden not your heart.”
A heartfelt Vielen Dank (Many Thanks)
to all the great folks who helped to make this year's Octoberfest so much fun: the people who donated the potato salad and the desserts, the servers, and the cleaning crew!
A special thanks to our cooks, Bill Ahlberg from Redeemer Church, David Ballah, and Joe Norris, and to Margaret Boger, who organized the volunteers.
As in past years, the "Harmony Belles" - Elaine, Rosa and Al, provided the festive atmosphere.
Thank you all!
