Team Wadena has returned home – maybe a little chilled and stiff but with joy in our hearts knowing that some of our Wadena neighbors will be a little warmer.
Elaine, the owner of the home that we worked on for three days, now has three new energy efficient windows installed along with fanfold insulation, Tyvek, and vinyl siding on over 75% of her house. Also, St. Philip’s Mitten Ministry donated a box of mittens that will help the children of Wadena stay warm throughout the winter. The Wadena Ottertail Long Term Recovery Committee operates a clothing distribution center at their office, so the mittens were a perfect gift for them.
Thank you to Carol Anderson and Carole Jensen for baking cookies that were enjoyed by the team. Also, we thank Chick and Chris Lane for the cookies, pumpkin bread, and muffins along with their hospitality as we shared an evening of pizza and conversation at their home.
