Philadelphia!

Touring on a double-decker bus...
Our trip to the City of Brotherly Love begins early in the morning. The first stop will be the Independence Mall Visitors Center where tickets can be purchased for the "Big Bus" tour of Philadelphia.

The tour tickets are less than $30 and are your responsibility to purchase. The 90-minute tour is narrated and takes you all over the city from the waterfront to the Art Museum. The best part about taking the bus tour is that your ticket is good for the entire day. You can use the bus to get around the city during the afternoon free time.

Sampling a Philly Cheese Steak at Reading Terminal Market
After the bus tour, we will walk to the Reading Terminal Market for lunch. This long-time farmer's market is filled with foods from around the world and the crowds are just as diverse! It is so much fun just to walk through the market and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells.

Want to try some traditional foods from Phildelphia...try the Philly Cheese Steak or a soft pretzel. Yum!!!

Visiting the Liberty Bell...
After lunch, you are free to explore the city on your own or with a new friend who has the same interests as you.

The Philadelphia Art Museum is home to one of the finest collections of art in the county. The steps leading up to the art museum were made famous in the movie, "Rocky." You, too, can climb those steps and pretend to be the victorious fighter when you reach the top. You will have a great view of the city from the top of those steps.

There is much more to see in the city. For instance:

* The Philadelphia Zoo if you love animals

* Philadelphia is home to some of our country's most treasured historical sites (The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Christ Church, etc.)which are a must-see for history buffs

* The Gallery Mall has four floors of retail stores for shopping divas

* South Streets has wild and crazy shops, boutiques and eateries for those with an adventureous flair

Regardless of your interests, Philadephia has something for you to do during your afternoon free time. Check out the Philadelphia links under 'Want More Information' on our home page for other ideas.

Dining in China Town...
We'll gather together for dinner in the China Town section of Philadelphia. This is a great time to share stories and adventures of the day.

After dinner, we'll visit a Chinese Market where you can purchase food items for International Night or just for yourself.

Then it will be back to Lancaster County and a night of rest to recuperate!
