DUTIES1. Be concerned about public worship of the congregation, determine policy for worship and music, oversee and coordinate all factors that affect the worship life of the congregation, including worship and music personnel, number and times of worship services, types of liturgies, bulletin format, etc. 2. Appoint captains to be responsible for recruitment and scheduling ushers, greeters, altar guild, communion assistants, scripture readers, acolytes and sound technicians. 3. Oversee the care and maintenance of worship equipment and furnishings. Be responsible for worship preparation which includes proper liturgical coverings for the altar and lectern, banners which coordinate with the liturgical calendar, and communion set-up, including a "ready" supply of bread or wafers, wine and oil. Be responsible for the musical instruments of the church that they are well maintained and tuned on a semi-annual basis. 4. Encourage members and friends of the congregation to join the choir and to share their musical talents and gifts during the worship service. 5. Seek ways to enhance the effectiveness of the worship life of the congregation, and to encourage people to establish a meaningful home and personal worship life. 6. Work with the Board of Evangelism in effectively communicating the work of the congregation through such means as worship services, church newsletter, news releases and general public relations. 7. Make annual budget proposals for the areas of responsibility for submission to the budget committee. 8. Report monthly to the Church Council. |

Duties:1. Assure that the Word of God is faithfully preached and proclaimed. 2. Strive to improve the quality of Christian education programs at all levels of congregational life for children as well as adults. 3. Oversee and coordinate the various education programs of the Congregation. 4. Call and support Sunday School teachers. Plan, approve and evaluate the materials being used in all area of education. 5. Plan, approve and evaluate the Confirmation program of the congregation. 6. Seek to enhance the spiritual well-being of the school age youth in the congregation. 7. Council the pastor (s) in regard to his/her teaching ministry within the congregation. 8. Be creative in initiating educational programs for the congregation and in revising and updating programs already in existence. 9. Provide direction, support, and assistance to the youth coordinator and/or pastor in the implementation of an effective youth ministry. 10. Encourage and implement a viable and worthwhile program of activities (spiritual and social) for the youth of our congregation. 11. Encourage the pastor of the church to avail himself/herself to continuing education opportunities. 12. Make annual budget proposals for areas of responsibilities for submission to the budget committee. 13. Report Monthly to the Church Council. |

| BOARD OF STEWARDSHIP |

Duties:1. Be responsible for a year-round stewardship emphasis to and involving the congregation. 2. Seek ways to broaden the understanding of stewardship to include the use of time and ability in relation to the work of the parish. 3. Propose and execute stewardship campaigns on behalf of the parish. 4. Conduct such special financial appeals as the Church Council dictates. This includes all money raising activities which need to be "cleared" through the Board of Stewardship. 5. Alert the membership of Gloria de Cristo to any deficits in annual in-gathering as they develop. 6. Give special attention to the involvement of new members in the life of the congregation, such as volunteer services, opportunities, organizational involvement. 7. Consider programs and causes which will increase benevolence giving of the congregation. 8. Plan, organize and distribute Time and Talent Surveys at least annually to members and associate members. 9. Work with the congregational treasurer in supervising the congregation's financial affairs and in management of the budget. 10. Work with the congregational treasurer and/or bookkeeper in supervising the work of the financial secretary, counting volunteers and on occasion recommend the payment of bills. 11. Be certain that accurate financial records are maintained by the treasurer of the church and that these very records are made available for audit by a committee appointed by the Church Council. 12. Make annual budget proposals for areas of responsibility for submission to the budget committee. 13. Report Monthly to the Church Council. |

Duties:1. Be responsible for the care and management of all physical and real properties of the congregation including such things as maintenance, repair, upkeep, replacement of furnishings and equipment (inside and out). 2. Review all insurance policies and contracts involving the building and land. 3. Review and update as needed liability insurance for staff workers. 4. Provide safekeeping of all legal papers and documents. 5. Provide comprehensive documentation on all property owned by the congregation -- furnishings, hymnals, office equipment, musical instruments, etc., for purposes of insurance and other pertinent matters. 6. Be responsible for the distribution and/or collection of keys to the facility. 7. Maintain janitorial equipment and provide supplies as needed. 8. Make annual budget proposals for areas of responsibility for submission to the budget committee. 9. Report Monthly to the Church Council. |

Duties:1. Assist the membership of Gloria de Cristo to understand the issues which concern the Christan faith in its relationship to human need and social problems within the congregation, in the community of the parish and beyond. 2. Help provide opportunities for education, information, and discussion of these concerns in the congregation, working with other ministries in the congregation. 3. Cooperate with other churches and civic agencies in social services both within the congregation and the community. 4. Serve to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the congregation -- caring for the sick and aging, to be advocates for the dignity and justice of all people. 5. Serve as the congregation's link to the synod and church-wide committees on social service, social research, social action, and special ministries. 6. Encourage continued percentage growth in our benevolence offerings to the Synod. 7. Promote readership of THE LUTHERAN magazine -- the official publication of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. 8. Nurture and foster good relations with the Synod and church-wide organizations of the ELCA. 9. Encourage children of the congregation to consider full-time church work upon completion of their education. 10. To encourage benevolent giving to our Region's seminary, Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. 11. Encourage Glori de Cristo to be an ecumenical church involved in worship and fellowship with other Christian congregations. 12. Promote the congregation's involvement in the sponsorship of a missionary. 13. Make annual budget proposals for areas of responsibility for submission to the budget committee. 14. Report monthly to the Church Council. |

Duties:1. Inspire the congregation in such a way the the concern and outreach of the Gospel be proclaimed in this community. 2. To aggressively develop procedures for reaching new people in the community with the ministry of Christ. 3. Implement a lay visitation program to members who fail to participate or who have become inactive. 4. Conduct training sessions for visitors, prospective members, and inactive members. 5. Oversee the monthly newsletter and annual report of the congregation. 6. Publish materials/brochures about the life and ministry of Gloria de Cristo and arrange for newspaper and telephone advertising as might be helpful to the outreach ministry of the parish. 7. Conduct an annual review of the membership in accordance with the Constitution of the congregation. 8. Make annual budget proposals for areas of responsibility for submission to the budget committee. 9. Report monthly to the Church Council. |

1. Organize and carry out fellowship events as ma be deemed necessary and important by the church council to enrich the life of God's people at Gloria de Cristo. 2. Seek volunteers and coordinate the Sunday morning fellowship time. 3. Be responsible for new member orientation events. 4. Work closely with the Women of the ELCA in relationship to funeral lunches, wedding, and anniversary receptions. 5. Be certain that the kitchen is well stocked so that fellowship events of the congregation might be carried out. 6. Make annual budget proposals for areas of responsibility for submission o the budget committee. 7. Report monthly to the Church Council. |
