The Walburg Community Center, Inc was incorporated on 23 October 1962 under the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act to undertake, promote, develop and engage in community educational, civic, athletic and recreational activies. Its duration is perpetual.The initial Board of Directors were Gilbert Kurio, Ruben Behrens, Milton Rister, Walter Lehman, Mrs Louis Martinka, Mrs Martin Vogler and Bennie Marak. Gilbert, Ruben, and Milton were the incorporators.
It is not organized for the profit of any individual and has no capital stock but will have members and will charge membership fees and dues. Anyone residing within a six mile radius may become a member for a membership fee and anyone residing outside this area may become a member upon approval of the Directos and payment of a membership fee.
The Walburg Community Center, Inc is the successor to the Walburg Community Ball Park Association. The interested citizens of Walburg and community felt that the purpose of undertaking, promoting, developing and engaging in community, educational, civic, athletic and recreational activities could be more could be more easily accomplished by the formation of a non-profit corporation corporation to own the real and personal property then owned by the Walburg Community Ball Park Association.
The Walburg Community Ballpark Association assumed control of the property formerly owned by the Walburg Common School District No.13. The Walburg School Community held title since 13 May 1907 when M. Kasperik deeded the property to them.
