Join WELCA group at Fall 2011 Gathering |

We are going to the FL-Bahamas SWO Fall Gathering Nov. 11-13, 2011. Registration Deadline in Oct. 30, 2011. Several of the women from our church are registered and plan to drive together to the workshop at Lake Yale. Contact Louise, Ruth, or Pat at church for more information, and or see the link below for registration information, and details about the workshop.

Fund Raising Dinner for Faith Neighborhood Center |
|
We are having a fund raising dinner for Faith Neighborhood Center on Saturday Oct. 15, 2011 from 4 to 6:30 pm. Purchase your tickets in advance from Sylvia. Lake-Sumter Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will provide supplemental funds for the Center. Contact Sylvia at church this Sunday, or by email at travelwithsylvia@yahoo.com

| Oct. 1 2011 Planting of the Garden |
We had many volunteers out helping with the garden. The soil, mulch and plants were all funded by Lake-Sumter Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
The CRA of Groveland, and local individuals funded the rest.
We had Thrivent members, Zion members, the Mayor of Groveland, CRA and City Council members all working together to make this fall planting happening. The seeds the kids planted last month grew really well. |

Lake-Sumter Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has again provided funding for our activities to help a community garden near downtown Groveland.
On Sept. 7 the children planted the seeds, with help from a clown.
These will be planted in the beds on Oct. 1. PLEASE COME OCT 1 AT 9 AM FOR THE PLANTING. We need your support. | |

Sept. 2011 Food Boxes |
|
Using funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, and donated by a Thrivent member from our church, we were able to prepare 20 boxes of food to give to local families.
We put pictures on the outside of the boxes of some of the activities we have done at church. |

September October 2011 Activities being planned |
Sept. 6 2011 we will be hosting the Thrivent Board meeting. We have applied for funding for some of our activities:Sept. 7: Boxes will be packed with food for needy families near our church Sept 7: 6-8 PM Seed planting with children at South Park Community Garden. Joint with Groveland CRA, and Trilogy Wildflowers. Oct. 1: Planting of garden at South Park. The kids veggies should be up by now. Oct. 2: Join us as we go to Mickey's Halloween Party dressed as Lutherans. (That is our costume). |
