THE LEISETH FAMILY IN SOUTH AFRICA
Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,
Thank you so much for your recent sponsorship of the Leiseth family in South Africa! We could not be here without you. Thank you is not enough....but it is hard to have more words. So in the meantime, thank you!
We hope to be putting together a newsletter soon. But in the meantime, here are ways you can get connected to what is going on here in South Africa:
www.leisethfamily.wordpress.com - our family blog
www.yagmsa.wordpress.com - the program blog for the South Africa Young Adults in Global Mission
http://www.facebook.com/ELCAMUD - a Facebook page for Young Adults in Global MIssion - Southern Africa
You can also see some of our photos at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/leiseth/
Lastly, attached is our first newsletter from December.
In Christ,

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING & LIFT AT SARON
On Sunday, April 14th at a special congregational meeting following worship, the voting members passed a motion to install a wheelchair lift which will provide access to three levels of the church building for people with mobility needs. The cost of the lift equipment is approximately $25,000. The cost of installation and associated costs is approximately $10-15,000. The voting members present pledged $28,750 to pay for the lift and installation costs. By having 80% of the cost of the lift equipment, $20,000, we are able to receive a 2% discount on the cost of the equipment. With pledged funds already provided and available funds we were able to make that payment. Receiving pledged donations and additional donations directed to this project will reduce the amount of money we need to borrow in order to complete the accessibility project. If you have not made a pledge or donation and would like to do so, please contact our treasurer, Paul Sachariason. He will apply the donation to the project. The contractor who will make the building modifications to accommodate the lift within the church and the contractor who will install the lift have both been contacted and work will begin the second week of June. Thank you for supporting this project!

FAMILY NIGHT AT THE BALL GAME
We have had a great response to the Third Annual Family Night at the Ballgame with the Willmar Stingers. On Mon. July 1st join us for Veterans Night at the Willmar Stingers ballpark. First pitch is at 7:05 pm. The last two years we have taken close to 30 people to this event and we currently have 21 people going and more spots are available. Tickets are $18 per ticket which includes an all-you-can-eat picnic at the ballpark from 6:00-7:00 pm. This ticket includes brats, burgers, pop, and chips beginning an hour before the game and a reserved block of seats behind home plate for the ball game. We have 25 tickets reserved for our group, but more are available if we need them. If you are interested in another Family Night at the Ball Game, please contact Pastor Willie by phone, email, text, in person, or leave a message at the office. Please include your name and the number of tickets you would like to reserve.

2012 FISHING & CAMPING TRIP

Verona Sachariason has written a book entitled “Chicken Supper in the Church Basement at Saron Lutheran.” The book chronicles the history of the Saron Chicken Supper. Click on the link above to purchase a Chicken Supper Book.
The profits from the sale of the books will go toward the mission projects of Saron Lutheran Church.

The Feed My Starving Children MobilePack is coming to Montevideo in November. The link for our specific site is included above. From this page you can donate, volunteer, and find out more information about the mission and work of Feed My Starving Children. Please click on the "donate" link in the upper left-hand corner of the page and it will guide you through the donation process. Money donated in this way goes specifically to our MobilePack and will help pay for the meals. Meals cost $0.22 each to feed a hungry child. Please share this information with your family & friends and ask them to help by volunteering on site or donating to the MobilePack - or both!
