A big THANK YOU to all of you who helped us celebrate at our Christmas parties – whether you attended, donated items or helped in any other way, we really appreciate your support! We had a wonderful turnout for our Christmas program – thank you to all of those who came and helped us celebrate Jesus’ birthday!

February and March will again be busy months at preschool… In February, we will study Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, heart health and dental health.

We will celebrate Valentine’s Day with class parties on Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th. The students will exchange Valentine cards, play games and have snacks! Parties will begin at 10:30am and everyone is invited to attend!

There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, February 20th in observance of President’s Day and to coincide with the Moberly Public Schools schedule.

In March, we will study weather, the spring season, celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday, and St. Patrick’s Day.

We will celebrate “National Lutheran Schools Week” March 5th through March 10th. Fun activities are being planned for both classes and special guests will also be visiting the students. Zion Lutheran Preschool is co-sponsoring “Family Night at the Library” on Monday, March 5th at the Moberly Public Library. (Watch for more details in upcoming bulletins and parent newsletters.) The celebration will conclude on Saturday, March 10th beginning at 5:00pm with a performance by the students followed by a spaghetti dinner fundraiser.

On Monday, March 5th and Tuesday, March 6th Paula Hayslip from the Moberly Public Library will again come to read to the students in both classes. The students love to listen to stories and have really missed Ms. Paula!

There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, March 16th and Monday, March 19th to coincide with the Moberly Public Schools Spring Break schedule.

A very special thank you to those who have been donating needed items to the Preschool. We are currently in need of plain white paper plates and toilet paper.

Lastly, a HUGE thanks to those congregation members who have been volunteering to read to the preschool classes! We love having visitors read to us! If you haven’t had a chance to sign up to volunteer yet, please consider doing so…

Your child is now eligible for the 2012-2013 enrollment of the Zion Lutheran Preschool Program. (If you do not have an eligible child, please share this letter with a friend or family member!)

School will begin in September 2012 and end in May 2013. Children four years old by August 1, 2012 will attend class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Children three years old by October 1, 2012 will attend class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Additional sessions may be offered if there is enough interest. Classes will be held in the Zion Lutheran Church basement.

Parents are encouraged to become involved with the program: helping with art projects, serving snacks, reading to the children or sharing a talent or profession you may have with the children. If you would be willing to do something such as this, please let the Director know.

Please fill out and return the registration questionnaire to Zion Lutheran Preschool, 1075 East Urbandale Drive, Moberly, MO 65270. Because our enrollment is limited, we are asking for a non-refundable enrollment fee of $30.00 to accompany the registration. (If your child attended during the 2011-2012 school year, your paid $30.00 enrollment fee will be applied towards the September 2012 tuition fee.) This will guarantee a place for your child in our program this fall. Upon receipt of the enrollment fee and registration form, a confirmation will be sent to you. The regular monthly tuition for Session I will be $75.00 per month and $60.00 per month for Session III. A $15.00 snack fee will be due in September 2012 and again in January 2013 for each child.

Before school starts in September, there will be an Open House for each class and our handbook with school policies will be distributed then. You will receive a letter in late July or early August regarding the Open House dates.
