I have had two successful careers working with lots of great people who also recognized my contributions along the way. Volunteering with the various churches I have belonged to in my many moves has always been a highlight along with developing relationships with people in many organizations.

Having two great kids and an amazing wife is top on the list. I've also been lucky to get a job right out of college in an area that continues to thrive and grow (Information Technology). In 15 years, I've only changed jobs twice and have been able to see a lot of the world as part of my job - and made a number of friends in the process.

Randy and I are very passionate about Lutheran Education. Therefore I take great pride in the fact that my daughters received a Lutheran elementary education. Also, take pride that my daughters have followed our "footsteps" and are volunteering in the communities they live in.

Why I'm interested in serving with Thrivent
Personally the Thrivent staff has served our family tremendously during some very difficult times. By serving on this board, is a way of giving back to Thrivent and the community.

I spent 37 rewarding years in elementary education in the East Allen County School system. During that time I taught all grades from kindergarten to 6th grade. The last 20 years I was a resource teacher working with struggling learners mainly in the field of reading.

I have had two successful careers. The first is raising three wonderful and successful children who have rewarded me with my 9 beautiful grandchildren. The second is the rewards that I have experienced as I have seen school children become confident learners and readers. During the journey of life I have met many wonderful people that have enriched my life.

I'm young, I am sure I will have some soon! Proud to be an Indiana Alumnus and to have been a part of the Indiana Men's Basketball Team, but most proud to that she said yes!
