Celebrating 122 Years * Glory To God |
The Dove is a symbol of innocence, gentleness, and affection; also, in art and in the Scriptures, the typical of the Holy Ghost. God sent His Spirit in the form of a dove to gather mankind into His church. |

Vision StatementWe are a rainbow choir of fishermen and shepherds, discovering and celebrating the unity in our diversity: Learning, teaching, praying, singing, serving, and growing in the light of God, who in Jesus Christ calls us each by name and asks us to follow Him. |
Our MISSION is to love God and our neighbor as we seek to understand, respect, and celebrate our differences.________________________________________________________________ |

CLAIMED, GATHERED AND SENT! |
Mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America |
CLAIMED by God's grace for the sake of the world, we are a new creation through God's living Word by the power of the Holy Spirit;GATHERED by God's grace for the sake of the world, we will live among God's faithful people, hear God's Word, and share Christ's supper; SENT by God's grace for the sake of the world, we will proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed, serve all people following the example of our Lord Jesus, and strive for justice and peace in all the world. |
We are richly diverse and gifted by the Holy Spirit. Together, we are doing great things. Together, we are growing in mission and ministry. Together, we are showing what God is up to in and for the sake of the world.Let us take time to read about ways made available through St. James Lutheran Church to follow Jesus. Pray for God to lead and show you the way and let the stories touch your heart, and let the joy of your faith spring to new life within and through you.

Paul told us to pray for all men. But, there have been times when I have found it very difficult to pray for some people. And there have been times when my prayers were really "words", and not "heartfelt prayers".Do we need to be motivated to pray ? When should we pray? In the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, at night? I believe that you can pray any time, any place and and any where. The Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A Wright says that there re only 2 times to pray: "When you feel like it, and when you don't". Everybody needs prayer. Dear Lord, As we celebrate the beginning of your Church, make us aware of how we came into being, and how much Jesus sacrificed for us. Help us to do your will and spread Your Word with others. This we pray in the name of Your Sond, Jesus the Christ. Amen |

PentecostDid you know that Pentecost is from the Greek word meaning "fiftieth (50)? Did you know that it (50th) was used to denote or describe the Hebrew "Feast of Weeks" (Shavuot), which takes place fifty days after Passover begins? Did you know that this was originally and agricultural festival marking the end of the wheat harvest? Did o know that the day later came to commemorate the giving of the Torah to Moses on Mount Sinai? Did you know that to Christians it now represents the fiftieth day after Easter and the resurrection?
