FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO COMMUNE Scripture tells us that before we receive the Lords Supper we should examine ourselves (1 Cor. 11:27-28). Scripture makes clear that we can receive Communion to our judgment (1 Cor. 11:29). Scripture also makes clear that in Communion a public testimony is being given that the communicant believes the teachings of the altar he/she communes at are faithful to the Word of God. When we come to the altar at Trinity Lutheran Church we are publicly proclaiming that we believe that the teachings of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod are faithful to the Word of God, and that we are one with each other in doctrine and practice (1Cor. 1:10, 10:17 & Romans 16:17).

We practice Close Communion wherein we believe that only those who are one with us in doctrine and practice should attend Holy Communion here, because Communion proclaims a unity of faith. This does not imply that those of another Christian denomination are not true believers. It does mean that we at Trinity Lutheran take doctrine and practice seriously and that we believe that we should be one before we publicly proclaim that we are one.

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a Communicant member of the LCMS and of Trinity Lutheran Church, please contact the pastor. The Adult Instruction course is entitled, Myth or Faith, A Fresh Look at Christian Doctrine and there are 14 sessions each lasting approximately 90 minutes.

Missouri Synod

Wyoming District
Whether we gather in century-old white-frame churches or in modern soaring cathedrals, we share a common confession centered in the Good News: For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). We are 2.6 million people who form a church body called The Lutheran ChurchMissouri Synod.

On April 26, 1847, 12 pastors representing 15 congregations signed a constitution that established "The German Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio and Other States." They were men of faith and conviction. Some were German immigrants who had come to the United States to preserve their Lutheran confession of the faith, free from government intervention. They were stirred for mission, especially to reach German immigrants and to bring the Gospel to Native Americans.

Now in its 164th year, The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (the name was shortened on its 100th anniversary) numbers 6,145 congregations. While English is our dominant theological language today, on any given Sunday among our sister congregations there occurs worship in at least 20 different languages, including Spanish, Hmong, Eritrean, Sign Language, Russian, Finnish, Slovak, Chinese, and yes, even German!

The Bible is the divinely inspired and inerrant Holy Word of God. In this Word, God shows us His plan for all peoples lives and their salvation.

The One and Only Triune God is manifest in three persons ... Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Fathers forgiveness of every one of our sins and His total acceptance of us as His adopted children are His free gifts that come to us solely through faith in the crucified, resurrected, and ascended SonJesus Christ.

Jesus, true God and true man, won these gifts for us through His self-sacrificial suffering and death. His resurrection from the dead is the seal and guarantee of our bodily resurrection on the Last Day to eternal life in heaven with God.

The Holy Spirit creates and strengthens this saving faith and delivers Gods gift of grace to all believers through the pure preaching of Gods Word (the Gospel) and the proper administration of the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.

The mission of Gods Church on earth is God's mission: that His great love and mercy should be revealed through the proclamation of the Gospel and evidenced in our lives as Christians engaged in many vocations.

A Christians good works are the result (not the cause) of Gods grace and salvation.

Because we personally believe the Gospel and joyfully apply this Good News to our daily life, the study of the Holy Scriptures is a high priority for us, for our families, and for our congregation.

In response to the Gospel, we reflect Christs love as we show concern for those around us, extending compassion to hurting people and caring for their spiritual and physical needs.

We persevere so that people in our community and the world are drawn by the Holy Spirit to believe that Jesus Christ, God's Son, is their only Savior from sin and their only hope for eternal life with God.

We highly prize what we as an Evangelical Lutheran Church believe, teach and confess, and we provide a bold witness to such faith in both word and deed.

We strengthen our internal bond of peace and unity and by the grace of God overcome divisions, recognize legitimate differences, and eliminate roadblocks to the work of the Holy Spirit. As a family, we joyfully trust and support one another in our common mission and ministry.

Welcome to Little Lambs Preschool at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rock Springs, Wyoming. At Little Lambs we see your child as being a unique and precious gift from God. Because of this we commend and encourage you in the care and love you give your child. We believe that an excellent academic education is a very important part of raising your child to responsible adulthood. But we also believe that there is something even more important than your childs academic education, and that is bringing your child up in the training and instruction of the Lord Ephesians 6:4. Providing your child with a firm foundation in the Christian faith directs him or her to the eternal need of salvation in Jesus Christ.

Our goal at Little Lambs Preschool is to bring these two needs (education and salvation) together in the training of your child. Little Lambs is just one of the many schools in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, which makes up the largest Protestant school system in the United States. We at Little Lambs are committed to providing your child with an excellent education in a loving and safe environment.

Our greatest desire for you and your child is salvation in Jesus Christ. Our commitment to the truth of Holy Scriptures here at Little Lambs comes from Gods commitment to us in bringing us forgiveness and life in Christ. We are committed to sharing with your child the Christian faith and life, as we learn them from the Bible.

While a Christian education is accomplished in a variety of ways (most importantly in your home and Church life!), we believe that Little Lambs is an unbeatable opportunity to mold and direct your child into a more committed and better-educated Christian faith and life. May God bless our partnership with one another in reaching this goal.

Trinity Lutheran Little Lambs Preschool exists primarily to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with young children and their families and to offer a quality educational curriculum which enhances development spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
Young children learn best through play. In play, children learn by engaging in real actions involving tangible objects. They learn best through direct encounters with their world using all five senses.

Curriculum is what happens throughout the day that contributes to the growth and development of the young child. Our curriculum at Little Lambs includes Bible stories, music, art, language, social studies, science, math, and physical education. Many of these are not taught separately, but are integrated into the happenings of the entire day.

Our daily schedule includes a balance of active and quiet activities, individual and group activities, and child-directed and teacher-directed activities.
