Help Others Through CARE ABOUNDS IN COMMUNITIES.
Get involved!
Opportunities are Endless!
Care Abounds in Communities(TM) Program can do a variety of tasks to help the community in which you live. Fundraisers to help a group or place, or serve with your hands to fix or assist the elderly or a non-profit organization. What needs do you see in your community? There are many non-profits that need financial assistance or help to care for their buildings and grounds. Elderly, orphans, food banks, or independent park areas are just the tip of the iceberg.
A service team needs to have a minimum of six Thrivent Financial members, each from a different household. A service team can form with other chapters, such as Mid-King County, and make requests under the Care in Regions(TM) program.
The Steps to Funding are as Easy as ABC.
Log onto Thrivent.com and look under Fraternal Programs. There is an ABC-1-2-3 section which shows the three steps to organizing, requesting extra funds for expenses, ideas to enrich your fundraiser, and wrapping up the project with the appropriate documents.
When you identify a need in your community or congregation, complete both sides of the Community Service Team "Request for Funding Questionaire" (click on Resouce Links below to get forms). Submit this request by email or mail to the SKC Chapter Board person listed on the form. Deadline for consideration is the Monday prior to the Board meetings on the 2nd Saturday of each month. at least 1 week prior to a board meeting for proper consideration. You will be notified as to the status of your request, or contact a board member.
If the request is approved, just complete the "Care Abounds in Community Activity Report" within 30 day of the completion of the activity and forward to our Financial Director.
Planning the event is important, as is completing the process in a timely manner.
ABC-1-2-3 sounds easy, it is!
Just Do It!!
Is there a need in your community that could use a few caring hearts, some helping hands, and/or financial assistance? If there is, consider leading a service team to request help from your local SKC chapter. You just need five other Thrivent Financial members in order to submit a request.
