LASAGNA DINNER PROCEEDS |
The lasagna dinner was a huge success. We netted just over $1700. With the $1600 from Thrivent, we were able to purchase a whole lot of lunch supplies. When we got to Sam's Club and saw those three flatbed carts loaded, we had our doubts that we would get everything in one load. But with some resourceful packing by Jackie, Gidget, Len, and Renee we filled the trailer from front to back and top to bottom and were able to get the door shut. (SEE PHOTOS BELOW)And our timing was great. Their were 50 high school kids from Ontario staying at the camp, so they were able to pack themselves some pretty good lunches. And so many of them thanked us. We also had enough money to treat the volunteers to ice cream sundaes one night and to buy medical supplies to replenish the first aid kits at the camp. Thank you to Ann, Dawn, and Thelma for making these things happen.
| | | | | TRIP #5 - MANY THANKS! |
| | |
Once again, a big thank you to Central Rental for the use of the trailer. We couldn't have hauled all our gear without it. |
Thank you to the Youngs, the Campeaus, Butch Eaton & Gary Johnson, Tim Hardy, and Renee Johnson for their sponsorship of the magnetic car signs. They were very helpful in identifying our cars as we drove and, hopefully, others noticed them. |
We received monetary donations from so many members of St. Philip's, friends, and family. Their financial contributions were especially important this trip due to the rising cost of gas and the shortage of materials at Camp Victor. |
Thanks to Char Fautek for providing the lap robes and fleece blankets that were given to the owners of the homes we worked in. They were accepted with great apprecation as were the St. Philip's cookbooks that we gave them. |
