 A.L. Barry What About Series
“When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” - Titus 3:4-7

Originally from Iowa, Pastor Rinderknecht began his ministry in Beach Corner, Alberta Canada. He served there for twenty years before accepting the call to Trinity in 2003. He and his wife Cathy have four grown children - three daughters and one son. Pastor Rinderknecht attended Concordia College Saint Paul, earning a Bachelor of Arts with a major in history and a minor in classical language. He went on to Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis, earning a Master of Divinity in 1983.

Originally from North Dakota, Pastor Richholt served for six years in Colorado. He then served for sixteen years in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta Canada before accepting the call to Trinity in 2004. He and his wife Melissa have four grown sons. After attending Concordia College Saint Paul, Pastor Richholt earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Biblical languages and a minor in American history. In 1982 he then earned a Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis.
We are working to fulfill our mission as we:
Baptize -
We believe that God works through water and His Word (the Holy Bible) to make us His children. God's grace gives us the gift of faith and empowers us to be His people.
Celebrate the Lord's Supper -
We believe that Jesus gave us the Lord's Supper as a visible sign of His love and presence. Received properly, the Lord's Supper grants us forgiveness of sins, new life, and unity with other Christians.
Worship -
We believe that God wants us to join together as a family of believers to worship Him. God has and continues to do marvelous things for us, and we use our worship as a time to be reminded of God's love and thank Him. We sing, we hear the preaching of God's Word, we pray, we share our gifts, we celebrate.
Christian Education
- Trinity Lutheran Church has for fifty years provided the Billings community with a quality Christ-centered education opportunity. We are committed to assisting families with the education of their children in Christ's light. Together, as a team, parents and teachers work in unison to prepare our children for the future.
- All programs at Trinity Lutheran School are guided by standards of academic performance, as well as standards of student behavior, which we believe are pleasing to God. All students have the opportunity to study God's Word daily, and weekly to worship together during chapel services.
- If you would like to visit or find out more about our school, call (406) 656-1021 and ask for Principal Richard Thomas.

Our Practice of Close Communion
The Lord's Supper is celebrated at this congregation in the confession and glad confidence that, as He says, our Savior gives us His very Body and Blood to eat and drink for the forgiveness of sins. Christ invites to His table those who are repentant and trust Him alone for salvation. Holy Scripture warns that receiving the Lord's Supper without repentance and a forgiving heart toward others, and without a proper understanding of the Real Presence of Christ's body and blood, results in great harm to a person (1 Corinthians 11:27-29). For this reason, and out of Christian love, we ask that any who are not members of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, please speak with the pastor beforehand. It is our fervent desire and God's intention that this Sacrament prove to be a blessing, not a curse, to everyone who partakes.
Jesus said, "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last." - John 15:12-16b
