Apple Computer Scholarships
Deadline: May 30th
This year, Apple Computer will select ten college-bound high school seniors from across the nation, based on each student’s innovative use of technology in academics. Show us your best work, and you could take a MacBook Pro, iPod nano, and $2,000 to campus next fall. All of which will make college life a great deal easier.

Barnstead International has established a national scholarship program that awards one $5,000, two $2,500, and two $1,000 scholarships to outstanding high school seniors or college students pursuing a degree in the sciences such as chemistry, biology, microbiology, forensics, agriculture, environmental sciences, marine sciences, etc.

Best Buy Scholarships
Deadline: February 15th
Best Buy Children's Foundation grants scholarships to students who have good grades and outstanding community service. More than 1,500 graduating high school seniors will be selected to receive a scholarship for $1,000, $2,000, or $25,000. Scholarship recipients will be chosen based on community service and academic achievement and must be entering an accredited U.S. university, college, or technical school in the fall immediately following their high school graduation.

Hitachi Scholarships
Deadline: April 3rd
The Yoshiyama Award for Exemplary Service to the Community is open to graduating high school seniors in the United States and its territories. You must demonstrate self-motivation, leadership, creativity, dedication, and a commitment to pursuing community service to be eligible for this award. This award is based primarily on the impact of your community service activities, and you must be nominated by someone familiar with your service (excluding family members). Grade point averages, SAT scores, and school club memberships are not considered in the selection process.

Penguin Group Scholarships

Signet Classics is proud to host its tenth annual Signet Classics Student Scholarship Essay Contest, in which five high school juniors or seniors can each win a $1,000 scholarship award to be used toward their higher education plus a Signet Classics library for their school! Students enter by writing an essay on one of five topics posed for the year’s competition book.

ShopKo Scholarships

In the spring, ShopKo will be granting $1,000 scholarships to 100 very special students. Students who truly believe in their communities and in themselves. Hard-working high school and college students whose academic records, work history and dedication to community service set them apart.

Target Scholarships
Deadline: November 1st
The Target All-Around Scholarship Program recognizes volunteer work as well as academic achievement. Target awards over 600 $1,000 All-Around Scholarships each year, including 1 $25,000 scholarship, to high school seniors and college students age 24 or younger.

Wal-Mart Scholarships
Deadline: January 20th
Each year students of all ages and all backgrounds are reaching for their dreams of going to college. The Walton Family Foundation and Wal-Mart Foundation help provide these opportunities through various education initiatives such as the scholarship programs. Four scholarship opportunities are available, and vary in amounts of $1,000, $2,000, or $10,000.

The Abdel Ross Wentz Prize
Deadline: June 1st
The Abdel Ross Wentz Prize is a $1,000 cash award to be presented annually to the author of the most outstanding essay or research paper dealing with American Lutheran history. All students enrolled in a master's degree program at a theological seminary, divinity school, or department of religious studies in North America are eligible to compete. If the quality and number of submissions warrant, there may be a second or third prize awarded.

"Give Something Back" Scholarship
Deadline: Feb. & Aug. 15th
This endowment makes a very limited number of awards available to individuals seeking ecclesiastical endorsement and certification/credentialing in ministries of chaplaincy, pastoral counseling, and clinical education.

Lutheran Student Fellowship Scholarship
Deadline: Jan. & Aug. 15th
These $500 scholarships are open to all students who are affiliated with an LCMS congregation and who are enrolled as a full time student in a post high school program of two or more years. Eligibility is open to all undergraduates.

National Youth Worship Arts Awards
Deadline: February 15th
The National Youth Worship Arts Awards (NYWAA) are designed to create a renaissance in the worship life of the church through celebration, nurturing, and encouragement of young artists, musicians, writers, dancers, videographers, and actors who share their gifts, talents, and passion for God through the arts.

The Association of Lutheran Church Musicians (ALCM) Raabe Prize for Excellence in Sacred Composition is awarded every two years for a single musical work, published or unpublished, and written within the last five years. The work should reflect a larger history of excellence on the part of the composer who need not be Lutheran. Any sacred piece may be submitted. Compositions that include the voice or voices are preferred over those for instruments alone.

A Better Earth Scholarships

A Better Earth is sponsoring its annual spring essay contest, with prizes of $2,000, $1,250, and $750 to be awarded. Additionally, there will be four $250 honorable mention awards, and the top fifty essay writers will receive a free book!

College-Computers.net Scholarships
Deadline: Aug. & Dec. 15th

College-Computers.net offers 2 scholarships every year in the amount of $1,000.

College Matters Scholarships
Deadline: March 15th
College Matters is an educational non-profit run by students. Applicants must be either high school graduates or in their last year of high school and planning to enroll full-time in a four-year college or university the following fall. Currently enrolled university students are not eligible. The scholarships awarded will be worth between $1,000 and $5,000, to be paid in one installment.

College Prowler Scholarships

The Dr. Robert Rufflo Scholarship Fund awards two $500 scholarhships per year to high school and college students enrolled in accredited schools in the U.S. Scholarships are granted for exemplary work in a variety of applied and basic science fields. Work may focus on original research, a research review, or critical essay.

EasyAid.com Scholarships
Deadline: March 31st
The criteria for this $1,000 scholarship is to write an essay of fewer than 1,000 words how one person in particular has influenced your life in a positive way.

The FW Rausch Scholarship Fund presents two $500 awards per year to high school and college students enrolled in accredited schools in the U.S. Scholarships are granted for exemplary work in one of a variety of Arts- and Humanities-related areas the contestant may choose from. Work may focus on research, biography, or critical essay.

The $5,000 Patricia M. McNamara Memorial Scholarship is open to students who are already attending college or will be attending college within a year of the deadline. In 1,000 words or less, write about the best trait or traits of someone whom you have looked up to in your life.

ProgressiveU Scholarships

ProgressiveU is sponsoring the Blogging for Progress Scholarship, which awards one $1,000 scholarship and three $300 scholarships, simply for blogging!

Prom Wishes Scholarships
Deadline: March 31st
Complete the Prom Wishes Scholarship Form and submit a 400-word, one-page maximum (typed, double-spaced) paper on "Wish for a Better Tomorrow: How I can help improve the local community." In the essay, detail how you have impacted others through your involvement with a club or organization. One $5,000 scholarship and ten $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.

TechStudents.net Scholarships
Deadline: January 13th
The TechStudents.net Scholarship is available to vocational/technical, community college, four-year college, and graduate students who are pursuing degrees in technology-related fields including, but not limited to: computer science, information technology, graphic and web design, and information systems. Selection for this award will be based on creativity, content, and usability of your application. A brief essay outlining technology advice for entrepreneurs and small businesses is also required. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded, and financial need will not be a consideration.

We the People Scholarships
Deadline: April 19th
This award is open to current high school juniors or home school students between the ages of 16 and 18 who are either U.S. citizens or permanent residents. You must submit an essay that examines the historical debate over the benefits and disadvantages of adopting the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights and answers the following question: "Are the freedoms named in the First Amendment fundamental and if so why?" One $5,000 award will be given, plus three $1,000 runner-up prizes.

Youth Harbor Scholarships
Deadline: March 15th
The Nana Fund Scholarship is available to students who are 18 years of age or younger. You must demonstrate community involvement, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, submit a personal essay and two letters of reference to be eligible for this award.
