On this page we highlight Care in Community Projects that will be held and have been held during the current year. We will highlight Care in Congregations Projects if the Congregation provides us with the pertinent information. In addition the Chapter provides our Chapter Congregations with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Logo paper plates, foam cups and napkins upon request from a Congregational Coordinator. |

YEAR END HUNGER DRIVE |
|
A Hunger drive was conducted between Thangsgiving and Christmas to provide funds to the Franklin and the Lebanon Food Pantries. Raised-$381; Matched-$225. | |

MOPS |
|
The MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) held a fund raiser at King of Kings Lutheran Church. Raised-$500; Matched-$500.

CROP WALK |
|
On the first Sunday in October the churches of Franklin and Springboro host a CROP walk to aid World Hunger and the Local Food Pantries. The Thrivent match goes to the local Food Pantry. Raised-$4,101; Matched-$1,600.

Wrinkle Review - Musical Comedy |
On the first Saturday in November the Deardorff Senior Center in Franklin held their annual Wrinkle Review to raise funds to help area Seniors. Raised $1,610; Matched-$1,600. | |

Join Hands Day Event - Completed |
|
St. Paul Lutheran Church scouts, parents, and friends stationed at the Franklin, OH Wal Mart store handed shoppers a list of needs for the food pantry on May 26-27. Shoppers contributed 5 heaping grocery carts for the Franklin Food Pantry. | |
| Pregancy Care Center of Cincinnati - Completed |
King of Kings Lutheran Church held a fundraiser during the Month of March to raise money to aid in assisting young pregrent women. Raised - $1262.00 Matched - $500.00. |

| American Cancer Society Run/Walk - Completed |
Abiding Word LC will sponsored the 3rd Annual "Run for the Prize" 5K Run/Walk and Little Tyke Dash, Sunday, June 10th, 2007 Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Raised - $1,352; Matched - $1,073. |

Interfaith Hospitality Network Run/Walk - Completed |
On July 4, 2007 the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Warren County (IHNWC) held its 1st annual Red/White/Blue or Run/Walk/Benefit at CountrySide YMCA in Lebanon, OH. Proceeds benefitted the families that receive services at IHNWC. Raised $8,865.00 matched $1,600,00. |

| Pig Roast - Completed |
A Pig Roast was held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Franklin, OH to raise funds for Lutheran Outdoor Ministries to provide a week-long day camp for area un-churched children. Raised - $1,600, Matched - $1,175. |

| Second Time Shop & Childrens Christmas |
On Friday evening and Saturday morning of the first full week end in each month the Second Time Shop housed at St. Paul Lutheran Church is open to sell good clothing at a low price to raise money to purchase new clothing for area children of low income homes for Chiristmas. Several area churches assist in this effort. Children to receive the new clothing are selected by the Salvation Army and the Franklin Area Community Services. In past years approximately 200 children 12 and under have been given clothing each year. Raised $3,101; Matched-$1,600. |

Join Hands Day Event - Completed |
|
On May 19, 2007 the youth and adults of King of Kings Lutheran Church planted flowers to beatuify the area around the church sign. A total of 15 youth and adults attended the 3 hour event. | |
| SouperBowl Sunday - Completed |
February 4, 2006 is not only for football but is also a day when children and adults can take their Soup Bowls and collect money for the local food pantries. Three of our Churches planed activities to assist their local Food Pantries. St. Paul LC, Franklin - raised $1,525 - match $1,525 Ephipany LC, Springboro - raised $ 746 - match $ 746 Resurrection LC, Lebanon - raised $ 606 - Match $ 606 St. Paul & Epiphany funds and match went to the Frnaklin Food Pantry. Resurrection funds and match went to the Lebanon Food Pantry. |

Arts Council - Completed |
|
Resurrection Lutheran Church Youth held a New Orleans Sampling of Foods on February 18 to accept donations for the Lebanon Arts Council to aid in purchasing equipment. 2007 - Food Sampling - Raised $200 - Match $200. | |
